Recital Hall<\/em> est une installation vid\\u00e9o r\\u00e9alis\\u00e9e en collaboration avec l\\u2019artiste Megan Bruinen, autour de l\\u2019ascension et de la disparition du chat en ligne pionnier thepalace.net<\/em>.<\/p>

\\\"Dans Recital Hall, un avatar erre sans but \\u00e0 travers les salles de discussion et les couloirs vides de l\\u2019ancienne plateforme en ligne The Palace - autrefois un lieu de rassemblement anim\\u00e9 pour des \\\"vampires, programmeur.euse.s et magicien.ne.s\\\"<\/strong>. Aujourd\\u2019hui, pourtant, l\\u2019endroit semble \\u00e9trangement d\\u00e9sert. Sur fond de m\\u00e9lodie m\\u00e9lancolique, cette absence oppressante se dissout dans une brume blanche o\\u00f9 les fant\\u00f4mes d\\u2019anciens avatars apparaissent parfois, l\\u2019espace d\\u2019un instant.<\/em><\/p>

Bruinen et Le Bars explorent la nostalgie des mondes virtuels et une narration fragment\\u00e9e, qu\\u2019ils tissent avec des mat\\u00e9riaux d\\u2019archives. \\u00c0 l\\u2019image des spectres d\\u00e9crits par le th\\u00e9oricien et s\\u00e9mioticien Roland Barthes<\/span><\/span>, les entit\\u00e9s num\\u00e9riques se tiennent \\u00e0 la fronti\\u00e8re de la pr\\u00e9sence et de l\\u2019absence, du pass\\u00e9 et du pr\\u00e9sent - influen\\u00e7ant ainsi directement notre mani\\u00e8re de percevoir le monde.\\\"<\/em><\/p>
