The series begins with a 2025 court case revealing Meta’s use of pirated books to train its AI systems, showing how informal archives are absorbed into corporate infrastructures. It draws from the visual language of bootlegging and the cinematic imaginary of artificial intelligence—where speculation and desire often obscure the material realities of extraction. Each piece is inspired by the cover of a pirated DVD, linking digital piracy to earlier, physical economies of circulation.
