Multimedia installation (2023)
Audio piece made from the recording of a guided tour of the Tunnel Ravne in Visoko, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This half-filled labyrinth is supposed to link the outside world to the interior of the Bosnian pyramids. The pyramids were initially brought to public attention during the early 2000s, as the Bosnian businessman and author Semir Osmanagic defined them as the world's oldest man-made structures, drawing large numbers of tourists every year.
Open to volunteers, the excavation efforts serve as a platform for crafting archaeological artifacts rather than discovering them, embodying a form of communal performance where participants shape rounded stones and massive steps as a way of generating a reality that previously did not exist in the collective mind. This realism is also supported by the production of a large number of documents that replicate the linguistic patterns found in legitimate scientific records, thereby establishing a sense of authority through the use of scientific language as performative.
